Did the same thing. Not real crazy about the WNA circuit used the board as a base/test bed for testing various opamp/output stage combinations with the pcb being no more than OA (opamp) front end/OA power supply interface with the output section off board. When I nail one that both fits the board and that I can live with will actually solder it in and case it up. Next up (if i ever get to it ) is SEPP class-A (ALL NPN transistors, will need a phase splitter between the OA and current pump of some type or another ) and HDOA type power supply to the OA so I can run the front end AND output stage from 30VDC -/+ for increased dynamic headroom

Those mini-Hammonds actually look kinda "pretty" once the bloat of that frikkin' overly thick wanna be O-ring is removed from view Sheesh. Can lead the horse to the water but make him drink ? NOT ! ....just funnin' you man.Maybe you former world beaters on the other side of the big pond think that actually looks good.No accounting for taste

where can I get those aluminium volume knobs?
my taste goes rather to silver than black or polished stainless steel.
only stuff I can find are those plastic or the odd wood ones....

BTW, it's now building season so I may well spend a few weeks on something totally off the wall and extremely "high end" looking. Obviously it'll be shown here first, I'm talking no holds barred uber posh looking cosmetics

Now that thing is ugly Rick Forget Hamptone should be called a "Hampton" (slang for "dick" ie: Hampton wick = dick) cheap knob, flimsy looking front panel with the screws not even aligned so they're all uniform and you think that looks good? I think that it, whatever it is, looks very bargain basement but your idea of what looks good and my idea of understated yet functional are two different things.... maybe if I soldered a big gold plated onto the front panels they'd be more to your taste? What is it anyways? insert instrument into hole... is it a cheap Chinese orgasmatron?

Not only have read all the above but have actually built a good portion of them in the past (with the exception of the newer pass amps) BTW- my "Zen" Amp is configured like no other i have yet seen and is a form of SEPP with gives me somewhere around 20-30 watts pure class-A.I use a 600 ohm:600 ohm bridging transformer as the input with the input side having either Single Ended RCA or Balanced XLR (switched selection) and the output side used as a phase splitter with the "+" side going to one Zen channel and the "-" side the other making what was formerly two stereo amps into individaul monoblocks with the output taken from the two former "hot" speaker terminals. came out as expected-better power across the board, better dynamics and an increase in bass power but the frikkin' HEAT generated by the two behemoths is way up in the blast furnace range because the ZEN Amps are pure class-A meaning you need to dissapate close to 200W per section just to get that section to produce 10W

Built the JLH and was not impressed, maybe it was my build or maybe part selection but not me.The Pass version is an unknown so far as pesonal sonics go.
I have noticed a personal trend where something that gets a good modern review is not always in line with what i personally find pleasing in an amp SQ with more often than not the "New Hi Fi" tending to light weight in the bass and favoring upper octaves instead of midrange/mid bass GUTS where music sounds like it has some actual life.
Funny thing is I build one way for my record monitors and another for home hi-fi music enjoyment with the "gutless" being my preferred choice for checking recordings or testing audio gear because I don't want to be distracted by the music when listening but need to analise what is going on yet for just listening want the amp to just go away and listen to the music.
Example : Pass Class-A 20WPC/Updated transformer Stax interface/Stax cans makes for a great amp tester but is a bit sterile for music so i use the same cans with a triode amp for actual music that is a bit too romantic for testing/eval
Kinda makes for a schizo design load but then i build to please me and to suit end use rather than try and force a one size fits all

Well guys, here is the Chiara schematic (based on the JLH headamp) Stock opamp is LF353 but you will get slightly better results with OPA627 on single to dual adaptor. Great amp IMO.
