I have a mf nu-vista m3 amplifier, the small preamp toroidal transformer had damaged (inside psu box).I have decided not to use the original toroidal transformer. I am thinking of using two separate small toroidal transformers as replacement of the old transformer (multi-secondary output with a single-end 9V winding <2 wires> and another 71V x2 center-tapped winding <3 wires>). I found the secondary output voltage marked at the PCB circuit board, but i am not sure whether this is the actual voltages of the transformer secondary output. I have no idea where to find the replacement transformer with such special output voltages. Any idea how can we purchase the toroidal transformer from RS component? Thanks.

Think you are going to strugle with this one. From what I've read you wish to replace a single tranny ( for the pre-amp section) with two separate trannys for better sound etc.Again, the existing tranny is dead ?
I'm a MF fan, but when you take the lid off many of their products, you do wonder where the money went.Usually their PSU's are little more than a torodial tranny in a box and a switch.OK so it keeps the nasty 240 awayfrom the delicate bits but............... Be real careful with your M3.The last thing you want to do is to shag a 250WPC integrated monster. For me, a call to MF would be in order.( I've assumed that there is no info on the existing tranny ?)They may be able to point you in the direction of their supplier.maybe not.But I doubt if RS/Maplin/Farnell do your tranny with the exact secondary voltages etc or even two seperate ones with the correct voltages
Give MF a call.I have found them helpful in the past, but you do need to talk to the right person. If in doubt ask to speak to Antony himself !
