I want to drill holes / cut / bend / finish metal panels (Steel / aluminum but mostly aluminum). What do I need Any place where I can learn ? (books/online) If someone can give me a list of the bare necessities to get this done it will be fantastic. Just to let you know where I am coming from - I have trouble drilling a hole into an altoids tin

I'm sure the other guys with some diy experience will have some good ideas. Maybe since your are in the States, someone on H**d F* could give you ideas where to source tools. I have just ordered a Dremmel type rotary drill from Maplin for tidying-up and more detailed work. Nice and cheap at the moment. www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=-19&TabID=1&source=15&WorldID=&doy=7m2You will certainly need a vice, and when drilling through thin metal, have a piece of wood as a backing to avoid distorting the hole. Taking it easy with the drill speed also helps. Get a good drill and suitable drill bits and practice!
