His Headwize site really started the move to headphone listening in 1998. He designed the Cmoy amplifier & several other pieces of equipment. He personally paid for the site; at times when he ran out of money, the site would be down for a couple of days or longer. He died alone in a rented room in Las Vegas in early 2016.
As availability to Headwize became very intermittent, Jude in Toronto started Head-Fi to bridge the gap. He allowed commercial sponsors; we can see where that ultimately wound up.
