The guy in the first video (by the way) was the last LORD MAYOR OF LONDON (Ken Livingston) can you imagine how they would have treated a normal passer by?
This is democracy and freedom?
I don't think so!!!!!!!

Yep back in the day was always told you only have to give your details when arrested at the charge desk until then only where you been where you going what you got on you.. If the search then get a ticket even if you empty your pockets yourself.. Finally if you are being questioned under caution ALWAYS get a solicitor and never speak without one The police are slippery customers but all these private security firms make the police look Lilly white It was never like that on CND protests we were told our rights before the start

For all the guy with the camera did they were obviously still able to ride roughshod over the young guy. What hope does anyone have when you up against people who twist the truth while wearing a uniform.

It's disgusting Chris but that's the UK today! Even up here (believe it or not!) you rarely see the police in Thurso BUT a few months ago they gave a fixed penalty point to a delivery driver (who was delivering to a shop)..... they must have really pissed him off because, after they gave him a fixed penalty, they walked down to the sweet shop to get an ice cream. He went over to their police van and threw one of these "ready to go" dinners in a plastic tub onto their windscreen.
There were two witnesses, me and my mate Shaun (in the bike shop). The Police returned (eating ice cream) and Shaun told them what the guy had done (I told him to keep his big mouth shut but he didn't). One of the coppers asked me what I saw..... I said "nothing". He then said "your friend just said WE saw him throwing a tuna pasta salad at your windscreen" I said "I didn't see a thing"
The next thing, the copper got all stroppy with me and asked me for my details. I told him that I wasn't obliged to furnish him with any details and he replied with "If you don't tell me your name and address you'll be in the back of the van in handcuffs, don't get cocky with me!"
I put my hands out in front of me and said "go on then mate, I'd like to know how this will end up when your inspector throws the book at you".
He then said "look, I'm only asking for your details, if you've got nothing to hide then why not give me them?"
I replied "I am NOT giving you my details so stop trying to intimidate me" He was pretty much an ARSEHOLE with a REAL attitude on him and his partner was smiling at me as if to say "you tell him mate, good on you". An absolute ARSEHOLE, so much so that I went into the police station and made an "informal" complaint about him..... the desk sergeant said "I'll have a word with him, is that OK?".
The guy pleaded guilty at court and got 60 hours community service (as well as the fixed penalty) for "throwing his lunch at a police vehicle"......... absolutely ridiculous.

Sorry to enlighten you Mike but "I'll have a word" to an informal complaint means I'll do nothing. Always make a formal complaint even if it's dismissed it gets logged. T B H if that guy with the camera shut his mouth and got the other guy to do the same instead of admitting on camera he had littered he would probably walked. Indeed if they had both walked quickly away those dickeads did not have the power to detain I believe.

I decided NOT to go down the formal route because I couldn't be arsed wasting time on the arsehole...... he hasn't been seen in town since (Thurso is self policing / doesn't require uniforms) so not a deal breaker. If he was there ALL the time I would have gone formal on his arse but he's not. It was his attitude that pissed me off..... I'm 56 years old and he was talking to me like I was some type of crook / stupid person. I know these people deal with crooks and probably think EVERYBODY who is not dressed in a Police uniform is a crook but this guy was totally out of control. A small Highland town is self policing, there's ZERO crime, that's because everybody knows who's who...... this prick was shipped over from Glasgow and brought all his BIG CITY mentality along with him. It's like these people who destroy small villages by building new houses in villages and commuting 100 miles to work..... they move from a city into a village, slap a burglar alarm onto the side of their house and ignore everyone...... that's not the way to do it

Yes sometime you ask whether it's worth the hassle. That's right Mike saw it in the small community we lived before moving back here. Everyone looked after each other thro floods on boxing day and snowdrifts a few winters later and when my daughter had to spend months at a time in hospital I knew when I came home of an evening to get a change and a shower there would be casserole or a pie on my doorstep to be heated up. If not some one would be knocking the door with a hot meal. Now two new estates on the old market garden and sports field everything's gone. So sad. But the local copper was excellent never saw him till I had a car crash but he was good and sorted thing out without any attitude. Yes they think we are all villains no matter who or what we say, and to be honest a lot of them are bullies. Once I was told that the DVLA info was wrong when I showed the copper the web site and he was right! He would let me off with a caution I said no. Summons me and drove off. They followed me for two miles until I found a roadside coffe caravan sat there in the sun reading my kindle until the cops left, then finished the novel just to be sure lol

Ha ha back in the day Martin Yeh, that looked like freedom in action Martin! Nowadays you'd have the smoke and booze gestapo pissing everybody off and totally ruining the free vibe. Why do we all need to be controlled nowadays? Back in the day we could manage just fine without f**kin' stewards / Police and other officious bastards monitoring our every movement.

Just watched the video with Ken. I get the feeling the copper didn’t recognise him! Even I do and I’m not even british. Then the copper doesn’t seem to grasp what Ken is explaining: the police work for the public, not private corporations. How hard is it?!
