Just been reading a piece on Gerard Depardieu's daily wine consumption, allegedly fourteen bottles a day! The French health expert Professor Michel Lejoyeux, who blasted French attitudes to the heavy consumption of alcohol, and the media's admiration of his alcohol intake.
He said: 'We smile about heavy users, calling them "bon vivants". 'A consumption of 14 bottles a day is beyond all data, all thresholds and health references of the World Health Organization."
Depardieu must have some serious deep pockets to engage in this high living. I can't imagine he's drinking £4 bottles from Aldi.

'A consumption of 14 bottles a day is beyond all data, all thresholds and health references of the World Health Organization." Depardieu must have some serious deep pockets to engage in this high living. I can't imagine he's drinking £4 bottles from Aldi. No, I could probably do 6 bottles (over a day) and that would guarantee one major hangover the next day. Fourteen bottles of wine suggests Gerard has built up a tolerance (you do) and the initial "ONE" bottle that got him pissed now requires 14 bottles to achieve the same result. Nasty nasty stuff, all alcohol should be banned and all alcoholics should be treated with the best of detox drugs and the best aftercare known to mankind. I'm currently on my 25th "NHS" detox Nigel...... round and round in circles...... THIS time I realise that there is only one person who can help me and that is ME! Fourteen bottles of wine a day is NOTHING if you have been drinking wine all your life.... your liver compensates and manages the increased consumption...... the thing with abusing your system..... you can do it for so long and then "all of a sudden", WHAMMO!, things start to shut down. That's where I am at..... I thought I was invincible but now (at 56 years old) the cracks are starting to appear........ A bottle of whisky every night of the week is to get you off to sleep? Absolutely INSANE and very damaging to the health / extremely expensive too. If Gerard is on 14 bottles a day I feel seriously sorry for the guy and will do my best to e-mail him / talk with him and do my best to help him. I can't help myself but am good at helping others...... what the hell does that say about me?
