Some really nice images here Dale, IQ of these shites all over my Note4 and S4. I've never had an apple phone but the next phone I get I'd like it to have a decent camera. Its the only extra feature I'd use from a phone , do these shoot RAW too ? Obviously don't always have my main camera handy so a good phone camera is really convenient

I need to find a better app than the standard phone one, something that offers more control low light no flash Untitled by leo kirkbride, on Flickr

Thanks I'll have a readup . I don't mind using jpeg with the phone , it seems it's just point and click with the standard app , it would be nice to have control over shutter speed, aperture etc

TBH I'm finding the camera on these behind my Samsung galaxy note 4 . I like everything else better but a little disappointed with the camera , I'm probably too used to a DSLR.

I think the best plan is to just do a completely different type of shooting. My overly ambitious landscapes here are a bad example. Your probably right Dale, I'm probably being unfair to it . Nice phones though, I'd find it hard going back to Android now

I liked my iphones leo...... had 3 of them (3, 4 and 5) but last year decided to go for the Sony Xperia Z5 compact as the latest iphone was far too big for my liking. I absolutely HATED the Xperia Z5 compact at first but now love it! I suppose, at the end of the day, it's just about getting used to something and overcoming the initial shock of a totally different interface. I'm no expert when it comes to phone cameras but must say the Z5 compact is a pretty good point and shoot camera and gives good results UNLESS you want view all the macro detail in the photo at full resolution..... it can then be a bit blotchy in places These were simple point and shoot photos: rockgrotto.proboards.com/thread/11083/sony-xperia-z5-compactThose Samsung phones seem awfully big to me..... not the sort of device I'd want to be carrying in my pocket. A geezer got one out in the bike shop the other day and I asked "what the f**k is that?" and he told me it was a Samsung phone. A phone? (I said) it looked more like a small tablet. He had hands like a gorilla and even in his hands the phone looked uncomfortably "large" and impractical..... I really don't see the need for something that size, it's just plain vulgar and looks like it could be easily damaged. I always go with a screen protector and a leather case but to fit those on a Samsung phone would make it even bigger..... you'd have to get your pockets widened by a tailor Leo, if you're looking for a good case may I recommend Snakehive...... their cases are superb really nice quality too: www.snakehive.co.uk/ I have a leather one but those wood jobs don't look half bad, may take a punt on one of them too. The Z5 will be my last contract phone.... decided to go back to PAYG..... on the mobile I make about 10 minutes worth of calls each week and that's costing me £37 per month. I have unlimited calls and text messages but that means nothing if you only use the phone for 10 minutes per week and seldom send those damned annoying "text messages". It makes better sense to ditch the contract thing I think? I only go into rabid mobile phone mode when I'm love but seeing as I have vowed to stay well clear of the opposite sex forever "unlimited" calls are not required. What is it with the batteries on these f**kin' things??? Back in the day you could open the battery compartment and replace a knackered battery. These days they put the battery in first and then fit the rest of the gubbins making it a BASTARD of a job to gain access to the battery...... This is just INSANE: androidcommunity.com/heres-how-to-disassemble-a-sony-xperia-z5-compact-20151123/ All the phone makers want is repeat business every year so they do this deliberately but I ask myself the question "do I really want to be giving my money to firms who design throw away products?" No, I don't and I won't be any longer. You shouldn't have to strip a damned phone down to the bare bones to change a battery..... that is just taking the piss.

No, I don't and I won't be any longer. You shouldn't have to strip a damned phone down to the bare bones to change a battery..... that is just taking the piss. I've always had android phones since the Galaxy S1 but the total p**s poor service from Samsung after my Note4 went faulty put me off. I won't ever buy another Samsung product again. One thing that really annoys me is bad customer service, the new firmwares was a damn nightmare and used to cause nothing but problems. I use my phones for browsing, photos etc so always liked the larger screen ones although I fully understand why a lot can't stand them. They are easy to drop and just a pain bulging out your pocket. I find the smaller screens hurt my eyes, probably should just go and get my eyes tested Those cases look smart Mike, thank you for the link, the case I currently use is a waste of time and offers no protection at all so I'll check those out on Snakehive. Hey it'll be the size of a laptop with a decent case fitted It seems most modern phones now deny any access to the battery which seems stupid . I see Samsung had major issues with some of their batteries catching fire . I'm really liking Apple stuff, their expensive but I'm liking the OS better than what I'm used to. I got sick of my Laptop running Win10 , at times I felt like flinging it across the room. The process of sorting my photos out was also so damn slow even after upgrading the RAM. After getting a Macbook pro I've never looked back, my photo apps run so much quicker and smoother.

Dale.
I know this is a bit cheeky but it would be really good to have a basic walkthrough as to how you get photos like this off an iphone 6/7.

I didn't see the point of him deleting all of his posts, some nice photography and some good posts regarding headphones but I suppose he had his reasons. Dale's a decent enough chap Derek, good sense of humour and very intelligent. His political views may not quite fit the bill with some people but so what? We are all entitled to hold different views but one thing I've learnt over the years is politics and religion discussions never end well

If forums get on my nerves I just take a break, seems such a shame to delete all the posts though What a huge loss it was. Artists tend to be rather sensitive though, and if you treat them poorly, they tend to pack up and go, along with their art. I hope things get sorted and to see more work from the artist

I did manage to find "Dale's" latest collection using a Leica 'C' (Panasonic LF1) on Zenfolio: Leica C
After clicking an image, click again for full size. Nice set , was trying to work out what the Hawks prey was
