There has been a seach for a closed headphone. I have a Sennheiser hd-580 for 15 years or so. But I work (biology/physics teacher) in my livingroom where my four children and girlfriend live too. So the open Sennheiser is nice but not very isolating for me.
I had bought three AKG K44 second hand in one go. These are pretty good but I wanted a bit more comfort so I bought a K550 second hand. These I returned because they smelled funny (cigarette smoke). But I did like the sound of this K550. I like a clean neutral sound. A bit warm is ok like my hifi gear (Quad esl-63 and Musical Fidelty nu-vista pre and x-200 power amp's and x-ray cd player).
So now what? Search for another K550 (rare) or is there another good closed back headphone?

I just finished scanning the last 160 headphones I've reviewed, and there's nothing else comparable to the K553 for neutrality, closed back, and comfort. So the K55x is that good? But there are a number of versions, right?
