Took this today of this tiny little fellow on the backyard , doesn't look like it'd been left the nest long DSC_9740-2 by leon kirkbride, on Flickr Nice one Leo! It's going like a fair in my garden too...... the regulars are turning up 5 times a day expecting to be fed...... I spend more on nuts / seed / fat balls etc. per week than I do on myself It's pretty much a case of 24/7 feeding at this time of the year...... plenty of lambs being born but no sightings (as yet) of any chicks..... the pair of partridges have been going at it like larry so I'll do my best to get a photo of the chicks as soon as they appear. There will NEVER be another Henry or pinhead but the pheasant with the deformed beak is getting a lot more vociferous "squawking like crazy for his breakfast at 6am" and I'm sure he will be making his way into the kitchen soon 30 years ago I'd be out shagging chicks....... now I'm feeding them bloody seed (and not seed from my trouser python may I add)......... actually, come to think of it, I'll pop out right now and fill the feeding station up. Nice photos Leo, keep them coming. Mike xx

I tend not to express my opinions on mainstream media , these last few years my patience and tolerances towards people have become non existent so best I keep quiet Give me wildlife any day 18860171976_18e35f8e61_o by leon kirkbride, on Flickr

I still don't know how to screen out the awful glare from the moon in order to preserve the shadow detail. Mine was overblown to start with so I changed to spot metering and fiddled with the exposure compensation. I've got a celestron 127 telescope so may have a try with that soon as we get a clear sky. I've not tried stacking video yet

Here is one I rescued. Very cute, we usually get the same problem especially flying into the patio glass doors luckily none have been seriously hurt, pigeons seem to do this the most leaving a big greasy outline on the glass

Theres usually a feeding frenzy after filling up the feeders, even the bloody squirrel has started bringing his missus here burying the nuts all over the garden

Be thankful the bits of crap on his body hairs isn't in focus This guy was about 7mm in size so I had to get pretty close to him before he flew off, even at f16 the DOF was small at this close distance. Further back I got more of the body in focus but lost the eye and head detail. BTW all cc or opinions is appreciated , I'm still learning

Superb photos Leo, the detail is phenomenal...... no doubt about it..... those are worthy of inclusion in a David Attenborough book.... superb!
