I've just ordered my first headphone amp, to be able to hear my sound system over headphones. What does anyone think/know about it?

Nothing it seems, I guess it must be a new design

There are lots of photos online of Little Bear amps, and every one looks different. But some of them look a lot like OEMs of the Bravo series. I got a Bravo Ocean from Massdrop for $85 USD, and it's really great, but needs additional heat sinking, which I provide by sitting it on my Macbook Pro (aluminum surface). The great thing about valves (tubes in the U.S.) is you can use different types to get a different sound.

So much for accuracy ? (grin) But yet, I've found the sound interesting, probably insofar that it "rounds off" digital anomalies. Someday when all of my tracks are perfect, there would be no such need or benefit.

Too many old .mp3s in your collection that are no longer available in RB CD , or too many RB CD victims of the "Loudness Wars"?

It was in my allowance.

Looks like i'm the only Grotter with an allowance?! Is that the same as a beer allowance?

Beer could form part of it, if you wish.

The Little Bear is now 'bedded' in and I am very happy with it.

How powerful is this? Enough to drive 250 ohm DT880 or 300 ohm Sennheiser HD600? And are the tubes on this one just for show?

It drives my Intempo phones to higher than I find comfortable, as to which is doing what, then I'm an amateur. Satisfied with it I have now made another order in the Valve realm.
