Looks like the lighting was perfect - excellent photos! Can you describe the car? The new Mini's in the U.S. are quite different from the originals.

The orignal Minis went out of production c.1999 IIRC. The new Mini (or MINI as BMW say) is essentially a sub-compact BMW. Good quality, respectable performance. Famous for its handling rather than speed and power. Great fun and def. a niche product. This is my 4th MINI.
The lighting on that walk was actually very dull. So I was looking for shots that would look better rendered in B & W. I used Alien Skin film emulator within Photoshop to give it a look that resembles Kodak Tri-X at 400 ASA, but without the grain. The grain is optional!
I'll post the RAW shots so you can see how very dull it was that day.

Just part-exchanged mine after a couple of years for my new Cooper hatchback. Don't know why I'm happy to pay what is actually too much for a small car. I'm not a car nut at all. But just love the MINI. I'll have one for as long as a) I can afford it, and b) am still supple enough to get in and out. That'll be me buying a Focus next year then ;-) D. p.s. believe I mentioned in another thread that this new MINI has a 3 cylinder BMW petrol engine with 136bhp, plenty of torque and a 0-60 in about 7.5 seconds. Makes me smile. Handles like a dream.

I like the Mini Derek but I can't really fit into the damned things The 1.4 Micra SX I drive is a very small looking car on the outside but once you get inside it's like the fekkin' Tardis! I've put money aside for a new car but I just can't part with the Micra until it gives me a reason to have to part with it.... it's 12 years old now and drives like new, it goes like a rocket and gets me into town in about 14 minutes (town is 12 miles away).... it goes into town every afternoon / 7 days a week and (TOUCHWOOD!!) has never failed me..... there's seldom another car on the road and no speed cameras so I wind her up to 95MPH on the straight and between 60 - 75MPH on the corners..... not "fast" by any stretch of the imagination but these little Micras really do perform their best when they are in the 4,000 - 5,000 rpm range...... I've only once redlined her in fifth and got 115MPH on the clock which is quite impressive considering the top speed is supposed to be 107MPH. The fact there was a good tail wind behind me probably helped on that occasion I'm running Denso iridium plugs / K&N induction / 5W - 30 fully synthetic oil (replaced every three months as standard) and this little car gives me so much pleasure...... It cost me £2,000 4 years ago (with 50,000 on the clock) and is now coming up to 90,000 miles on the clock and it seems to be getting faster and faster! I remember, many years ago, an old mechanic telling me that an engine hasn't fully bedded in until it has reached 100,000 miles...... I thought he was insane (at the time) but, the proof of the pudding is in the eating and his words have come to pass. The best £2,000 I have ever spent and I certainly won't be using my "new car fund" until it's absolutely necessary and, in fact, I may well buy secondhand the next time round too. To me, a car is a means of getting from A to B as fast as possible and as reliably as possible..... number plates or gadgets don't do anything for me and to fork out for a newer lump of metal on wheels every few years seems like a waste of my money. If I could source a really clean example of a Micra SR 160 then I'd be on it HARD....... Same as the SX but with a 1.6 engine! If I could source an SR 160 engine I'd also go for that and stick it in the SX...... You're probably having a chuckle but I seriously get a lot of pleasure from my Micra :-) My Micra "Steve" (that's what I call him) appears on the Micra gallery..... he is SV03 SGU / the tenth one from the top www.micrak12.com/gallery.htm
