Audiophile Fuses. There seems to be quite a few of these dedicated fuses on the market these days, not only for UK plugs but also the internal circuitry of equipment. The question is, Do these exotic fuses really make any difference as their manufactures suggest ? Or is this one big white elephant the Hi-Fi world could do without ? As you will see, some of these exotic fuses have very exotic price tags attached too ! Here is a typical example www.mains-cables-r-us.co.uk/28-fuses Looking forward to the feedback on this one ... Thanks.

Thanks. I have seen too many positive reports by normally trustworthy posters elsewhere, to completely discount them as Voodoo, however I fail to see how they can possibly make a difference in anything but a high powered amplifier. They appear to be wasted if these gold plated beauties are inserted into the usual cheap and nasty non gold plated fuse clips that more often than not, do not full encircle the fuse. A good test would be to temporarily replace a Tuning type fuse with a good fitting fuse that has a tinned copper wire soldered across it. If the Tuning fuse sounds better, then it must be adding something that it shouldn't. Alex
