I'd like to try them please. I have a MF A3 recently fitted with a socket, as per Matt's posts.
Not too far away from you I'd guess.
Regards, juke

Dave I presume that if they really like the module(s) that you send them, that they can keep them after sending you the appropiate amount by either Paypal or Direct Debit etc. ? Alex

Alex Alex The idea was to cycle the set around the participating members as is. As the modules require burn in time I would prefer the original test set to remain complete if possible. Dave

Hi Dave, I'd like to join the list to evaluate these. Would I be better getting as up to date as possible with the mods for the SCHA first or will they show a comparable difference with it as is (partial mods done)?
It's a shame that I won't be able to buy directly from you though if you are going to stop distribution.

Hi Paul Thanks for your interest in evaluating the OPA's...I will add you onto the list. They could perform better with the complete mods but IMO will sound just fine with the partial mods. After some thought, I have decided to remain impartial as a Rock Grotto Member/Moderator and do not wish to be thought of as being here for financial gain or perceived financial gain. The components in question can be purchased individually direct from Audio-gd, avoiding any bulk import duties, for just a small amount more than what I intended to offer them for. Sorry for any inconvenience this causes.Dave

I was going to say nothing but I fail to see how anyone could be offended because you are willing to offer a useful service, saving folk having to correspond with China AND offering backup.
I wish you would change your mind. People on this forum aren't afraid to speak their mind so I can't see that anyone would feel forced to buy something they didn't want. Surely Graham's niche is exactly the same.
Sorry, no wish to stir things but I just don't see a problem. juke

This is a reminder to U.K. members that Insomniac has agreed to keep supplying these modules at the previously stated prices. If you are a 100+ poster and you would like to try these plug in modules first, before deciding whether to purchase, please read the opening post by Dave, and post your interest in this thread,so that you can be added to the list.

No problems at all with you supplying these Dave, feel free to promote them as you see fit.... they are BLOODY gorgeous sounding modules so it's nice to have a reliable supplier to hand.... the fact you are a moderator makes no odds..... if they sounded like turd and you were promoting them as a polished turd then things may be different.... thing is, they sound great. Keep up the good work

Initial firing up of the SUN, reported in SC HA thread
Also don't have a problem with Dave selling these, it's not like there is a link to an online virtual shop or anything.

The SunV2 has arrived in Spain! At the the mo both my main amp and SCHA are awaiting other mods so are not funtional/ready for these yet. I managed to get more than half the parts I required from my local PA/repairs outlet, including a couple of surprise finds , a rare event. Probably be a bit of a delay before I can try these as we are moving back into our proper residence AND relocating one of the businesses, must be billy bonkers!

Chris, I bet you are itching to get back into the amps. There's always something that gets in the way of our audio playtime Good luck with the move and relocation.

When I return home I'll be doing something slightly different and will evaluate these modules in an old Marantz CD52MKll SE (modded) as well as the SCHA.... initial testing in the SCHA was VERY favourable and all three modules are worthy of "super chip" status (way up there with the likes of OPA627, LM4562, AD8620 etc.).... excellent SQ, good value for money and good fun too.... what more do you need?

Yesterday I picked up the evaluation kit from the local delivery office. I've had a quick listen to the Earth but want to spend more time with all of the modules before I post my comments. Thanks Dave. Paul

No problem Paul... glad to see they made it over safely. Have fun!
Just a reminder to any regular UK Members that may be interested... the Evaluation is still open and you are welcome to join the list and have a listen to these Discrete OPA's in your Amp/CD Player/DAC.

Dave, I've just had thought. I said that the OPAs might not fit with the caps that I have so you said that it would be ok to cut one of the extensions down if needed. I think I could just use a DIP8 rather than an extension and that should be enough. I'll try it and see when the time comes.

Good thinking Paul Maybe a mini DIP "tower" if needed to clear the tops of the caps.
