www.i-doser.com/At the moment the binaural tracks from I-Doser are a big topic in the Swiss media and probably elsewhere too (USA for example). It's best if you are googling yourself for "I-Doser". As far as I know there are CDs, downloads (iTunes store and own I-Doser store) and a few apps (PC, iPhone/iPod Touch) available with I-Doser stuff. I'm currently searching for some appropriate tracks for testing (I don't want to spend a lot of money for it unless I know what's all about). Can't say much at the moment as the sample in the iTunes store are to short. I'm sure the quality of the sound is important here, since the tracks are designed to alter your brain waves (at least they claim that it does this). Maybe the effect is working only with rather good quality. Important: I don't know what's really about those I-Doser files. I'm curious to learn more about it, but at the same time I could easily imagine that they only are trying to create a hype for selling their sound... The question really is: I-Doser, does it work?

I don't know how much of this YouTube videos are faked. Probably no all of those videos show real reactions to i-Doser sound. Be prepared: If you hear "normal" music then you don't hear i-Doser sound. A couple of the YouTube videos only show the "effects" of the i-Doser sound and you don't hear any i-Doses at all. i-Doser sound is very monotone (go to the iTunes store to hear a couple examples).

Christian,
I downloaded some on MP3 and I'm afraid all I felt was relief when the monotone faded out at the end.
The ones that I have have drones and musical information going on in the background with fizzing noises and tones going on in the foreground. Not sure that those videos are for real tbh.

Yesterday, I have listened for some time to the previews in the iTunes store.
I have not bought anything up to now. The problem is: In contrast to the Naturalspace Holographic Audio tracks those i-Doser tracks don't convince me. Some of the i-Doser tracks are even a bit annoying.
I searched for the YouTube videos since I've wanted more examples/information before I buy something. Still I'm not sure if I should buy some i-Dosers.
The Naturalspace Holographic Audio tracks are worth their money (I love them), but I'm not so sure with the i-Dosers.
I've added a review about i-Dosers to this thread (see posts above). The reviewer clearly says some of the i-Doser tracks didn't work at all, while some others were very relaxing and did their job.
Maybe you have also noticed that most listeners in the YouTube videos have used cheap earbuds or headphones. In theory the possible effect should be better with better gear, but maybe the better gear lets you hear the flaws of the recordings.

In all honesty, the music was distracting. I found myself focusing on the repeating patterns and working out time signatures instead of just going into some kind of semi-trance.
They're not as good as the Natural Space recordings. The do more for me and I relax moreso with the water based sounds. I wish they were longer - say 30 minutes.
The I-Doser mp3's are only 15 minutes whereas the CD's are 30!! Bit strange.

I bought "Acidqh" and "Peyoteqh" this afternoon. I'll try them over the weekend.
I'm rather sure that it doesn't works really. Both tracks above are the only ones that are sold separately on the iTunes store.
Probably the whole i-Doser thing is more of a fake than something else.
The Naturalspace Holographic Audio is very good indeed and I do like a couple of tracks from Darwin Chamber.

Sad isn't it Anyway, as someone who can happily "drop-off" to furious metal, (as long as the singer actually sings rather than grunt & growl like a grizzly taking in the out-door from an elephant) I really don't feel the need. Interesting idea though... PS Hasn't there been proper research into using sounds for brain-washing amongst other more sinister ends? Careful with that axe Eugene

If it really worked we would have "idozed" people lying everywhere grinning.. I tried the Marihuana sound some time ago and had to smoke a couple of "sticks" to make it work but then it was all good, I did not even notice the sound had ended

Is this for real? Those people in the videos look like idiots who would get stoned on their own farts I had a quick listen and felt quite agitated, nothing at all like downing a bottle of scotch in a pint glass and following through sucking the exhaust pipe of a bus

;D
It was a relief for me to turn it off with that awful tone going through the music. I found myself listening to the music and ignoring the tone completely, but listening made me stay fully alert.

At least I-Doser has a good marketing department. They are rather popular in the media at the moment. I started the thread because they had something about it in a popular free newspaper here in Switzerland. We have the silly season at the moment and they need to fill their newspapers with stupid stories. At least here in Switzerland (and in USA) some politicians are already "concerned" about those "digital drugs". IMHO those politicians are even more stupid than the kids in the videos... If you want real "effects", try "Naturalspace Holographic Audio". They have VERY relaxing recordings of good quality. Nothing annoying with them. BTW: All music is altering your brainwaves somewhat and a lot of other things are doing also (not only drugs). Monotone rhythms have always an influence on us. If you don't believe, go to a good Rave...
