I've been making them like this for a good while now but not sure if I have mentioned the updates here. Gone is the figure of 8 socket, now replaced with an IEC socket so mains cable "rollers" can have a bit more fun with it. New / improved Deltron 650 pro series DIN socket (expensive) is now employed: Deltron 650 pro series DIN socket The engine is the same high quality Clairtronics 30VA transformer with 1.25A (T) fuse on the secondary and 250mA (T) on the primary. The unit is fully ROHS compliant with high quality lead free Tin alloy with 4% silver and 0.5% copper solder used throughout. A class x2 (470nF) suppression capacitor is now fitted to the input as standard. Pinkie to X-ponent leads are fully shielded and terminated with neutrik (or Deltron) DIN plugs with nickel plated turned brass bodies. Enclosures are 131 x 75 x 62mm ABS.

This is how they used to be: Then this: Then this: Then this: And now this: The aluminium ones didn't sound any better than the current ones but they looked good.... thing is, they were VERY expensive to ship anywhere as they were so blasted heavy Hence the advent of the "Little" Pinkie which packs the same big punch but in a much smaller package There was another type but I can't find pics of it ATM

PS Miguel, I'm going to make you a much more domestic friendly cable for yours.... I must have been on a different planet when I stitched together that black and white one

Hi,has anybody out there changed there M.F. x10-v3 for the little PINKIE xpsu?is the PINKIE better than the x10-v3 or just as good? I don't do trumpet blowing, well I don't blow my own, so won't comment. One thing I will say, the X-psu v3 has 20VA on tap (approx 1600 mA) and the Little Pinkie has 30VA on tap (approx 2500mA) It's widely agreed that the more a transformer has in reserve the better.

Just receved my PINKIE PSU & eagerly replaced my M.F. xpsu v3 with the pinkie connected it to my M.F.x10-v3 & turned on.left her running for approx 20 mins then sat down to listen.put in a nutshell "THIS PINKIE IS f**kIN AWESOME" [sorry for the expletive but some descriptions require it].put simply i am not a hifi buff but i do enjoy alot of music & i have spent money on expensive interconnects & mains cables but this little box has completely blown me away.soundstage is huge, vocals have more clarity, bass is tuneful & deep[not overpowering] recordings are more clear almost as if a veil has been lifted.i will probably hear more as i play different recordings but i can honestly say that it has been one of the best pieces of hifi i have bought for a long time.well done Mike....one extremely pleased customer.

Thanks Colin,
That short and sweet review really has made my day. Don't worry about the expletive, it made the point better than any flowery words could have. It's funny that the majority of extremely positive feedback comes from people who are using the Pinkie with X-10 v3's and listening through loudspeakers...... I won't attempt to analyse it but let's just say I'm very happy that you are enjoying the music, that has put a smile on my face.
All the best.
Mike.
