Listening to some not too favourite music like CJ. Not too bad at all now. How age changes our perception of things. Wow, the Live video sounds like close to Live, man! But the EQ is very grating with high emphasis. Hey, engineer! Turn the highs down a bit.

It seems I'm in a minority, again!
Most folk cite Argus as their best/landmark album.
However, I personally much prefer "No Smoke Without Fire"

Led Zeppelin - No Quarter from The Song Remains The Same, 1976 - a live version.
As soon as I hear that warbling keyboard, it takes me back to the 70's. I saw Zep Live at the BBC and an album was released.
They played (even then) with this 'effortless' style. John's massive bass kick and the clarity of sound - without them padding it out with a fat 'wall' of noise.
This live recording brings it all back. Relaxed. Powerful. Quite slow in tempo and more like a matured band. Timps add a bit of flavour.
Such a pity that Jimmy went to pot. (literally)

My mate gave me a CD called (Incubus - Morning View), he picked it up for a pound out of a pound shop (where else?) I did not think I would like it - but it has really grown on me turning into the most played CD in my collection this month. 2 tracks from it.

My favourite album from them ............. Folk rock, man! in SHM hirez. Live! I prefer the hirez album version. One of my favourite bands and I also know them. Love their stuff and the ideas that they have introduced into their repertoire. Leige and Lief featured Sandy Denny. An amazing folk performer with a drop dead gorgeous voice. She died at a very young age. Fell down some stairs. To this day, the Fairport guys miss her. I've often seen them live - they even play live at Croydon (which is a bit of a dump) but in a nice hall called The Fairfield Halls. They play there every year and I normally catch up regularly with what's going on. I love the way the two violinists play off each other. I have so many of their albums. The Albion Band is also a great band to listen to. More like English Folk and Fairport's more 'American' sound.

One of my favourite bands and I also know them. Love their stuff and the ideas that they have introduced into their repertoire. Wow, you know them? Great! Can I ask you to get the autographs of all the band members on a hirez album that I will send to you when you meet up with them again if you are agreeable to that? Just let me know when you meeting up with your buddies again. I like this sort of things as I'm a collector. Just PM me to take this off line. I didn't know Sandy was already dead until now. I thought she had retired from the band and now enjoying life. Yup, she is enjoying life after death now. She really has a haunting and fascinating voice and it will be very difficult to find a replacement of such a calibre back into the band. That's what make the difference between the album and the Live! Let's say we all missed her badly.

Del Amitri. Roll to Me Nothing ever Happens The lyrics on this track are brilliant: "Telephone exchanges click while there's nobody there The Martians could land in the car park and no one would care" "And computer terminals report some gains on the values of copper and tin While American businessmen snap up Van Goghs for the price of a hospital wing" Sad but true

Well, here's another band that has, until today, slipped past me. No prizes for guessing these guys main influences...
Good ol' rock in the hard '70s vein.
mixing in a bit of red-neck,
