I have just taken delivery of a batch of Reflector 6H23P Valves made in July 1969 (just a month off from being 40 years old!) They have never seen the light of day nor have been touched by human hand (apart from the ten I took out of the factory sealed box to photograph). For those of you who believe the "older the valve the better" this is a real find! I had a good look under the magnifying glass and these are the best constructed I have yet seen! Same frames the 6N23P-EV's have (early 6H23N were built identical to the 6N23P-EV apart from the omission of chromed pins) These were put together by skilled people in the heyday of valve technology.... 1969 saw Concord making it's maiden flight, Neil Armstrong became the first human to set foot on the moon, half a million attended the Woodstock Rock festival.... hell, hundreds of ground breaking things happened in 1969, I urge you to have a read www.spiritus-temporis.com/1969/, quite amazing eh? All of it, sadly, in the past.... never to be repeated..... There's a part of 1969 that's still alive though! held in a vacuum for 40 years as fresh as the day they were constructed and here they are: I've sacrificed one pair and am listening to them in a modded X-Can V2 rockgrotto.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=q&action=display&thread=4228 and BOY do they sound goooood! Am listening to the 1969 recording of The Beatles "Abbey Road" and the SQ is almost placing me in the studio along with the fab four.... seriously, listening to "come together" I'm almost creaming my pants... the immediacy and detail of the recording is just breathtaking..... George Harrison's "Something" brought a tear to my eye and McCartney's bassline just blew me away..... I have never before heard it like that, it was if he was sitting right next to me.... awesome! Anyways, this is not a review.... just thought I'd share a 1969 "moment" with you all

Mike Not likely . They say only the good die young . In 40 years time they may be worthless anyway because all the Power Supplies capable of driving them will long since have been banned by the EU f'wits. Alex

Just to the left of the cabinet with the shotguns in it Turn right at the end of the hall, you will see a big red switch..... press that.............. If you survived the trap door continue in through the yellow door...... If you are still breathing after being doused in pepper spray make your way to the blue door.... press the big orange button..... BANG!

Probably the best find since the 100 x 6N23P-EV in their original cartons a couple of years ago....... 500 x 6H23N in their original boxes / cartons (100 per box) Quite a young vintage (1992) but never seen the light of day and each individual valve is wrapped in oiled paper inside the carton. Out of the Reflector factory. These are going into storage for a good few years Man, this valve hunting can be addictive.... keeps me off the streets tho

Bloody hell Yeh, good evening to you too! I'm still on the lookout for the elusive FACTORY BOX of 60's early 70's 6H23N where the frames were identical in build to the 6N23P-EV... the only difference being the 6N23P-EV had chromed pins..... the 1969 batch I have has the same frames as the 6N23P-EV as do a couple of early 70's batches I have.... I've taken a punt on a crate of 1961 6H23N (100) which have the "early" EV frames and am looking forward to them with great anticipation as 1961 was the year I was born..... It's all good fun Leo

Hey Mike Do you plan on trying to take them with you when you "cracher dans le panier" ? Alex Hell no! When I croak it you can smash them to pieces with a hammer for all I care.... I certainly don't want to be buried with a load of glass bottles.... a nice mattress would be a better idea
